October 2016

Summary: Cornerstone Chapel wanted to construct a “lodge retreat-like” modern, rustic 110,000-square-foot church from the ground up to accommodate a rapidly growing congregation. The design plan included a 2,000-seat main sanctuary with stadium-style seating and A/V production rooms under raised seating levels, overflow/multipurpose chapel, separate rooms for children in elementary school, middle school and high school, nursery for infants, an open atrium lobby with 45’ clear height ceilings and custom- built reception desks, and a common area with seating and coffee shop. Additionally, there was office space including a conference room and administrative offices. Exposed wood millwork items, roof decking, wooden beams and the underside of the wood roof in the atrium as well as The use of interior stone on the columns, accent walls and fireplaces tie in the visible woodlands and speak to the lodge-like atmosphere.
