Merritt Construction Services and Merritt Properties won three NAIOP Awards of Excellence for the following projects: Best Interior Rehab Agora, Inc. Best Medical Office Buckingham Best Build-to-Suit Office The Living Legacy Foundation Agora This marks our second recognition for our work with Agora, having received the NAIOP Award of Excellence in 2016 for the Best Low to Mid-Rise Office. This is our second and consecutive Best Medial Office award, having been honored in 2016 for our work with the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Agora Publishing hired Merritt Construction Services to transform a historical building into a state-of-the-art office. We renovated 38,000sqft of space throughout the building’s basement,first and second floors to install full- height glass partitions, high-end millwork and cabinetry, an illuminated backlit graphic wall system, integrated A/V systems, and walls made of Nicaraguan wood.

Chesapeake Urology at Buckingham

Buckingham The Best Medical Office award recognized Merritt’s first Class-A office development constructed at Buckingham, a two-story 52,420 SF building. Within 10 months, Merritt Construction Services built the core and shell, and completed their tenant fit-out. Slated for LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, design requirements were prioritized to reduce energy consumption by over 14%. Living Legacy Foundation Merritt Properties received an Award of Excellence for the Best Build-to-Suit Office for The Living Legacy Foundation. This work included a unique plan to expand Living Legacy’s footprint vertically, rather than horizontally. The renovation project for The Living Legacy Foundation consisted of a two-phase buildout to expand their existing single- story office from 33,000 square feet to a one-of-a-kind, 47,633-square-foot, two-story office.
